Parking Services manages parking permits, enforces parking regulations, supervises parking facilities maintenance and repairs, oversees appeals and the Diversion program, and assists in campus event coordination. The focus of Parking has shifted from a historically more punitive and monetarily focused to one that educates customers, provides option to meet the various needs of the campus community, ensures efficient and effective practices, and ensures a balanced budget. Parking oversees a total of 8,932 spaces on campus of which 3,057 are in a parking structure. Parking Services offers Motorist Assistance at no additional cost when our staff are on campus to provide lock-outs, jump starts for dead battery, tire inflation, emergency fuel, pushout of snow and bike lock cuts to registered bikes. Parking offers resources for bikers on campus including bike registration, covered bike storage, bike U-lock sales and other biking support and resources. Parking includes 6 FTE and ~30 student staff operating the office Monday through Friday 7:30 am – 4:30 pm and field operations until 10 pm during the fall and spring semester Monday through Thursday.
Shuttle Services provides weekday transit on campus to an average of over 11,000 riders per day running two routes during the day and one route in the evening. During peak hours there is a bus approximately every 5 minutes. Shuttle also provide van training certification, Commercial Driver’s License training, and charter services for local, long distance and overnight trips. Shuttle staff include 5 FTE staff, 7 12-month drivers, 7 9-month drivers and ~30 student drivers. Shuttle operates during the school year weekdays Monday through Thursday from 7 am – 11:30 pm and Friday 7 am – 5:30 pm.
