For over ninety years, the Lumberjack Marching Band has represented the pride, spirit, and traditions of Northern Arizona University. As musical ambassadors for NAU, we serve our students, alumni, and community through exciting and dynamic performances. The NAU Jacks Pep Band performs at men’s and women’s basketball games in the J. Walkup Skydome and Rolle Activity Center. In addition, the band usually travels to the Big Sky Tournament in March to cheer on the Lumberjacks. The Collegiate Band carries on the tradition of school spirit as the first band at Northern Arizona University. This ensemble continues to provide a fun and educational musical experience for wind and percussion performers. The repertoire places an emphasis on individual and musical growth and is exciting, energetic, stylistically diverse. The Collegiate Band meets in the spring semester each year as the campus-wide concert band with no audition required. The Wind Symphony is Northern Arizona University’s premiere wind ensemble. It is recognized nationally for high-performance standards of outstanding musical literature.The ensemble selects a diverse and contemporary repertoire to challenge students and bring out their highest level of performance. This ensemble has commissioned and premiered many pieces by composers of international fame and has performed at regional and national conferences.
