The NAUTeach is an amazing program where students will get hands-on experience teaching at local secondary level schooling within their first semester studying at NAU. This program collaborates with multiple departments here at NAU within the College of the Environment, Forestry, and Natural Sciences. In this program, which is heavily field-based, students will be able to earn a Bachelor of Science in Education in the following certification of their choice. NAUTeach is a collaborative secondary preservice teacher education program for students that are seeking certification to teach Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, General Science, Physics, or Mathematics. This program provides multiple opportunities for students, such as being able to graduate in four years, working in a STEM-focused center, early classroom teaching immersion, and experience "student-centered" instruction. This program also offers many scholarship opportunities, one of the most popular is the Arizona Teachers Academy. If you are not sure teaching is meant for you, try taking TSM 101 where you will learn how to write your own lesson plans, learn valuable skills that can be used throughout your time at NAU, and you and a teaching partner will be put in a real classroom where you will get to teach. Whether or not you decide to stay in the program, if you pass TSM 101 with a "C" or better, you will receive $100! If you have any questions, feel free to email the Student Ambassador: NAUTeachAmbassador@nau.edu. We also recently got an Instagram page and we would love to gain a larger following, please follow us @nauteach if you like! Thank you for taking your time to look at our program, we are so excited to have you here at NAU, have a great day!
